In North Carolina, approximately 57,000 people are incarcerated in various facilities. Additionally, 14% of those incarcerated people are over the age of 55. For these men and women, the toll of life behind bars is especially high. Today, we share the story of a prisoner who works as an orderly as he talks about the health difficulties faced by older incarcerated people. He’ll explain why he supports changing the rules that decide when they can be released.
