Candidates for the chair of the Buncombe County Board of Commissioners will face off during Election Day in November. The two — David Gantt, a Democrat and current commission chair, and J.B. Howard, a Republican — debated the county’s economy, role in providing economic incentives, education, small business and more during a Sept. 24 forum organized by the League of Women Voters of Asheville and Buncombe County.
