The award recognizes Mission Hospitals ability to achieve high-quality patient outcomes while improving efficiency. According to Truvens annual study and based on analysis of Medicare inpatients over one year, if every hospital in the country performed at the level of Mission Hospital and the other Top 100 Hospitals then:
- More than 164,000 additional patients would survive each year
- Nearly 82,000 additional patients could be complication free
- The average patient stay would decrease half a day
- $6 billion could be saved
