On Tuesday, the U.S. Forest Service announced it was fighting a 15-acre fire in Linville Gorge, one of the state’s largest wilderness areas. Wednesday night, officials said more than 40 firefighters are battling the now 100-acre fire, which is under investigation. More are expected to arrive today.
