Notice from the Buncombe County Board of Elections:

Candidate filing for the 2015 Municipal elections began at 8 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2015, and continues through noon on Friday, July 17, 2015.  Filing for candidates in Buncombe County takes place at the Buncombe County Board of Elections office located at 77 McDowell Street.

Candidates will complete a Notice of Candidacy form at the time of filing. Filing fees must be paid by a check made payable to the Board of Elections. In addition, candidates must reside within the municipality for which they are filing.

Buncombe County municipalities having elections this year include the city of Asheville, Biltmore Forest, Black Mountain, Montreat, Woodfin and Weaverville.
