From the Western North Carolina Agricultural Center website:
The new LEED-green certified Event Center boasts over 45,000 square feet and is an ideal location for a diverse range of events and gatherings — from national and regional trade shows and conventions, to corporate meetings, public expos and large-scale entertainment events.
With the capacity to accommodate up to 3,700 attendees at a time, the Event Center is an exciting and powerful addition to the region.
“Our goal is to offer meeting planners, who always wanted to book big events in Western North Carolina but couldn’t because of a lack of space, the opportunity to bring their clients to experience the charm and hospitality of the region. We know this event center will make us a major event destination,” said Ron Stamey, WNC Ag Center Marketing Specialist.
In addition to the 45,000 square foot exhibit hall, the center features a full service restaurant, flexible meeting space, breakout rooms and state-of-the-art audio and video technology.
Show managers will enjoy meaningful technology upgrades throughout the Event Center’s footprint, including building-wide digital signage, VOIP-enabled show floors, expanded wireless network and a total fiber optic upgrade to the internal computer network.
Construction on the state-of-the-art, $7.5-million project began October 2010 and the Event Center will open its doors for the first time, Friday, Sept. 9, during the North Carolina Mountain State Fair. More than 185,000 people are expected to gather in the region’s newest meeting space during the 10-day fair.
The significant number of events and meetings already on the books indicates the high interest in the amenities and value this beautiful new facility offers.
